You Can Have A Do-Over

The Jonas Brothers had one. So did John Travolta (say no to excessive plastic surgery, kids). Britney tried and we will respect her for that. The thing is, you can have a do-over, too.

Breaking off an engagement is one of the more painful ways to start again, but it can be exhilarating once the deed is done. The plan is to go into your decision one step at a time. Get up when you fall. Let your scabs turn to scars. Your skin will be thicker. Keep your heart tender.

If you find yourself in a relationship and want to break up but are afraid what your partner will think, first decide what you think.

Here are some quotes from wise people that have helped me:

Perfectionism is the voice of the oppressor, the enemy of the people. It will keep you cramped and insane your whole life, and it is the main obstacle between you and a shitty first draft.
— Anne Lamott
I take the long way home
I ask the traffic lights if it’ll be alright
They say, I don’t know
— Taylor Swift
Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror.
Just keep going.
No feeling is final.
— Rainer Maria Rilke
‘When you know what’s important, it’s a lot easier to ignore what’s not’
— Marie Forleo
